Audio-Technica ATHM40FS Features

One of the best features of the Audio-Technica ATHM40FS Precision Studio Headphones are their long cable. At 11 feet it leaves plenty of room for you to walk around the studio or play an instrument a good distance from an input device and still use the headphones for playback.

The earphones are very comfortable and both rotate 180 degrees to allow a user to use just one earphone and still be able to hear the outside environment.

The Audio-Technica ATHM40FS are also quite punchy, featuring a 100 db sensitivity, they can be a bit loud on the highest volume and could potentially cause hearing damage, but would also be great for DJing in a loud environment.

For DJing or using a monitor headphones there is absolutely no delay in these headphones. The ATHM40FS model of the Audio Technica line features a response time of only 5ms which means there is absolutely no delay when using these headphones to monitor incoming sound from a receiver.

The earphones are replaceable as well which means that if anything happened to the material or if they needed replacement from wear or dirt, they can be easily changed out. Ordering new earphones and parts direct from Audio Technica can be done from their website. A downside to this line is that it is no longer in production so there is only a limited quantity of parts still available to replace and repair this model of headphone – although you can still grab a pair from amazon. You can attempt to try and use parts from other lines as many are interchangeable but there are no guarantees. Part of the reason that this line is so affordable is it is no longer in production.
